Overcoming fear and anxiousness.

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” || John 16:33

In times of difficult circumstances or uncertainty, it can be so easy to feel overwhelmed and easily get stressed and anxious. Through my walk with Christ I have faced many situations that I have let fear and anxiousness creep in, and didn’t look to God in those situations. Often times when we let fear and worry control us, it can keep us from fully being who God made us to be. Going through battles and facing different trials throughout my life, I have learned so much. Recently God has been teaching me, that even in times when it seems like we don’t have any control over things, we can find comfort in peace in the Lord.

I wanted to share a few verses and things that I have learned along the way, and what has helped me overcome anxious times. I pray that this can be an encouragement to you in some way, and you can apply this to your life. I pray that whatever you are facing, that you can turn to God and truly surrender everything over to Him, and not let fear and worry creep in and steal your joy.

God is always listening.

When we are going through tough trials, we need to trust that God listens to us when we pray and cry out to Him. I know it can be so easy to feel alone, and feel like when you are praying God is listening… But, the truth is that He is always listening to us.

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.” || Psalm 34:4

In Psalm 34 David was anxious. Many times David wrote these Psalms, because He was anxious. This verse is a great reminder to never give up. You can pray the same prayer, what feels like a million times, and it feels like God is not listening or answering. I have been there.

The simple reminder though, is that when we pray to Him, He is always listening. He is listening to our prayers all day every day. God is always ready to listen and answer our prayers. Although it may take longer than we wanted or expected, He will provide in His perfect timing. So don’t give up. Keep pushing through your fight, and keep praying and trusting God’s plan. Trust Him through your anxiety, through your fears, through your doubts, through your pain.

Our Father knows what we need.

“So Abraham called the name of that place, “The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” || Genesis 22:14

Something that has been extremely comforting to my soul, is that God knows what we need before we even pray. He knows what we are going through and what we are struggling with, before we even go to Him… but He still wants is to ask Him for guidance. The Lord calls us to cast ALL of our anxiety on Him, because He cares for us.

The Father ultimately knows or needs before we pray, but He still wants us to trust Him enough to bring and surrender to Him. What is one thing that you are struggling or wrestling with that you need to surrender fully over to God?

You are not alone.

People deal with fear and anxiety everyday, so remember that you are never alone in your battles.

God wants to teach us to grow in our faith and learn more about Him through the battles and situations that we face. Learn to trust and walk in strength with Him, even in the hardest battles.

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” || Philippians 4:6

Although we may face tough trials and battles throughout our spiritual walk, just remember that you are never alone and you are not fighting your battle alone.

God’s got you.

God is always with you, He is good, and He is fighting for you.

Friend, life can be overwhelming and even disappointing at times. But in those times of pain, hurt, fear, or worry; God is still faithful and He will continue to show up for you in ways you could’ve never imagined.

In the times where you feel so anxious, just remember that God’s got you. Keep pushing on. He has big plans in store for you

You’ve got this. I pray this post has been an encouragment to you that no matter what you are facing or what your circumstances may be, God’s got you and He has so much in store for you.

I know it can be so easy to let fear and worry creep into your life, but defeat those lies of the enemy with the truth of God’s word.

I love you and I am here for you.

Thank you for reading! Much love, Carsyn Claire!
