My favorite Jesus essentials !

“Sing to the Lord! Give praise to the Lord! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked.” {‭Jeremiah‬ ‭20:13‬}

Some of my favorite ways to connect with God is through worship music, bible journaling, and reading devotional books. I will do this while getting ready in the morning, driving in the car, during my quiet time, etc. I love using these ways to connect with Jesus, and there are so many great songs and books out there.

I wanted to share some of my favorite worship songs, books, bible journaling tools, verses, etc with you guys. I pray this encourages you to reach out and use some of these ways to connect with our Father!

It doesn’t matter how you connect with the Lord!! I highly encourage you to find what ways work best for you and get into a habit and routine!

My favorite songs:

Way Maker by LeeLand:

I found this song during a difficult time in my life, when I was struggling and needed healing. I remember listening to this song, and hearing God say to me “no matter what I am here, and I am bigger than what you are going through. Trust me, even through the pain.” Way Maker has such powerful lyrics, and I highly encourage you to listen to it!

Graves into Gardens by Elevation Worship:

I recently found this song, and have been listening to it on repeat! The lyrics say “You turn mourning to dancing. You give beauty for ashes. You turn shame into glory. You’re the only one who can.” // This song gives me so much comfort. God has seen all my flaws and failures, yet He still calls me friend.

King of Kings by Hillsong Worship:

This song!!!! “By His blood and in His name in His freedom I am free.” Jesus died on the cross for OUR sins. Then 3 days later He rose from the grave! Nothing can stop Jesus. In His presence there is fullness of joy.

Homesick by MercyMe:

My sister and I found this song the day after my nana passed away in December. When I listened to it for the first time I broke down in tears. We used this song at her funeral, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. “Lord won’t you give me strength to make it through somehow.” These lyrics related to what I was facing in my life so much, and listening to this song during that hard time in my life gave me SO much comfort.

O Praise the Name by Hillsong Worship:

They sang this song in church one Sunday morning, and I fell in love with it. This is one of my absolute favorites and love the meaning and powerful message in this song. “O trampled death, where is your sting? The angels roar, for Christ the King.” Our Lord is so good.

My Heart Is Yours by Passion:

This is the song that was playing when I accepted Christ into my heart, and got saved. “I give you my life. I give you my trust. My heart is yours. Take it all.” Your life is in God’s hands, and He has amazing plans for you. Surrender your life to Him and live in His presence.

What a Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship:

This song has been one of my favorites for a long time!! “What a beautiful name it is, the name of Jesus.” The lyrics of this song have so much truth. I highly recommend listening to this song on repeat, and really listen to the lyrics and the message in the song!

These are only a few of my favorite songs! There are SO many great worship songs out there. Worshipping God through music is one of my favorite ways to connect with God!
