Be bold in sharing your faith.

“Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God.” {2 Timothy 1:8}

Sharing your faith with those around you, especially people you don’t know can be very scary. But, sharing your faith doesn’t have to be awkward or weird, it can be natural.

Sharing your story can be so impact you and others. Sharing your story can make you more confident, and realize there are other people struggling with the same things you are.

I asked you guys what you struggle with when it comes to sharing your faith with others, and here are a few responses:

  • Having the courage to say what I think or how my relationship with God is.
  • Fear of rejection.
  • Opening up to people around.
  • The conversation being awkward.
  • Feeling judged, and loosing friends.
  • Being embarrassed.
  • Not having enough faith.
  • Not knowing how to bring it up casually.
  • They will avoid the conversation.

These answers to the question show us just how many fears and worries we have of sharing our faith. And it shouldn’t be that way.

Here are a few things that I have learned through my walk with Christ to help me be bolder about my faith!

Start with sharing your testimony.

One thing that has really helped me step out of your comfort zone is sharing my testimony, and how I came to know Christ.

Sharing your personal testimony is one of the most successful ways of sharing the Gospel with others around you. It can be so hard to step of out of your comfort zone and actually share it, but praying about it can really help!

You are called to share what God has done and is doing in your life. No matter how simple or complicated your story may seem it is meant to introduce people to Jesus.

Your story is worth sharing.

Always remember your story is worth sharing!! It can be incredibly nerve-racking to even think about sharing your story with those around you. But, God calls us to share our faith with others.

Matthew 28:19 says “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” // We are all called to share what Christ has done, and God is with you through it all.

It can be hard to be completely real and transparent with those around you, but if we open up about our faith it can truly be a huge impact to you and the person you are pouring into.

You are not alone.

I feel like often times we get so caught up in what we are going through, that we forget that we are NOT alone. We have an amazing Savior that is with us always, and there are so many people going through the same situations you are.

Sharing your faith with others can help you realize that there are SO many people around you struggling with the same things you are. You can meet so many new friends that you can relate to or even pour out into by simply sharing your faith.

Pray for those you interact with.

Prayer is incredibly powerful, and can be a great way to connect with God. If you can’t think of anyone around you to share your faith with, pray and ask God to place someone in your life.

Praying for the person you are sharing with can be a great way to ask God to let you speak the words He wants you to speak, and to make an impact on the person you are sharing with.

Share your stories of God’s power.

No matter how ordinary your story seems to you, it is so important to share it because you never know what it could mean to someone. Sharing your faith can give comfort and encouragement, knowing that there is other people going through the same things you are!

Sharing your personal journey with Christ with others might connect someone with Jesus. God desires to use you, and wants you to be a leader.

Who has God brought into your mind to share your story with? Pray for an opportunity to get to share your faith with that person this week. Share your walk with Christ, and leave the results in God’s hand. You never know how someone will respond, but keep praying for them. You never know how the Lord will move in someone’s life in the future.

I hope this is an encouragement to you to go out and be bold and start sharing your faith with others. God calls us to share the gospel with others, and go and make disciples. You can make a difference in the world, you just have to step up and do it! God is with you through it all, so trust in Him and don’t be afraid.
